really startin to hate this car
gotta rebuilt carb, cause old one was shot( cracked body)anyway, car surges all the time.tuned carb, got a little better.new plugs, wires, ign. module, cap,all new vac. hoses, even new int. manifold gaskets.o2 sensor only has about 2000 miles.at idle, it jumps between 600 to 760 rpm.goin down the road, it feels like its got a fouled plug......cylinders all check out fine...no vac. leaks..........any ideas what to check??its either i find out what it isor im gonna have to bypass the frikkin computer, which i wanted to do later, when mileage got higher and i retire it from DD duty and sick it up a little.thanks in advance guys..........oh, pretty much stock 85 berlinetta, lg4, 102,000 miles
I saw something similar a while back. A shop replaced a carb, and also replaced the steel fuel lines with rubber lines. But of course rubber lines don't 'corner' like steel. It had a very, very slight kink which was disrupting fuel delivery.
Maybe fuel delivery?

didnt say it was the carb.timings fine.im assuming its something electronic. thats why i posted, ive had my share of built up cars, but dont the first thing about 3rd gen electronic emmisions controls. figured somebody might have an idea.everybody ive ever known whose had a third gen, never kept it for long, at least in stock form. dont get me wrong , i loved this car, up till now and never had a prob., but its seriously gettin on my nerves. im thinkin the old carb masked the problem an with the new one tuned right its showing up.

Although you have good vacuum, it sounds like it's in you're fuel delivery (inside the Carb).... with the ECM fighting for control (causing a surge).
By-passing the computer would be the best move you made, IMHO..... :lala:
