I would like to sometimes manually upshift my tranny like when im racing or just bored. I read a couple of archives that say I need a .296 intermediate/reverse boost valve in order to do this to my auto tranny. Now im paranoid of doing this. can I safely do this or do I need this product? If I do need the product, why?

I change gears manually with my auto while moving, like shifting from drive to OD after I get to 50MPH and so forth. I've done that with 700R-4's forever, in two trucks and in this Camaro, never had a tranny problem, don't see how it could be a problem for you to go 1-2-D-OD if you want. I don't do that myself, but if D-OD works it looks like the others will be fine too. Anyone else?
