Hatch wont close
Hatch wont close
The motor seems to be stuck in the up position. At first I thought the motor may have gone out but while I was playing with it this morning it shut the hatch 2 or 3 times. When it started shutting the hatch I just simply bolted it back on completely then it stopped again. Anyone have any idea on what the problem may be? Also I checked the fuse and it was fine so im stumped....

The motor could have hit a dead spot. Happened to me once and i just slamed the hatch and it pulled it down. Not recomended however. Try tapping the motor if it seems to get stuck again.
?
I tried everything... even took the damn thing apart. I would understand if the motor went out on it but I dont understand why it started working and then stopped again. Slamming it doesnt work either.... tried that.

You probably need a new hatch switch. Mine went up and wouldn't go down; no matter how hard I shut it or messed with it. Occasionally it would close on its own-- it had a short and eventually the wire would make contact and activate the switch.
Contact Top Down Solutions for one, $17, 2 day shiiping, great company.
In the meantime, take off the interior rear plastic piece and find the hatch motor.
Unplug the unit from the electrical connection harness.
There are 2 very small square hole terminals located in a black housing on the left side of the unit (if you are looking at it from the inside the car).
Jump a 12V power source (from the battery or another vehicle) to those terminals with a piece of wire. Strip the wire back about 2 inches and twist it tight. Make a 90 degree bend in the ends as well. You will have to figure out the positive and negative to make it go up and down. You are giving power directly to the hatch motor, so be careful.
It will pull down far enough so that you can't close the hatch. So take your time and do it in steps. You will have to open/ close the hatch with the key in the meantime.
I wish I could take some pics to guide you thru, but I am at work and don't have my car or a camera.
If I think of anything else, I will repost.
