Car Wont Start!
Ok so lately my car has been acting a little weird, it was like I could be driving it and like if I got on it sometimes it would like die out and kill itself and it wouldnt crank and crank and not start, other times I could just be driving and it die and have the same cranking problem. So today I get in my car go to work and get ready to leave for lunch, my car cranks and it will not for anything. Let it set try to start it to drive it home at quiting time and it starts and runs awesome like usual. Then a friend of mine comes over to tell me about the drag strip finaly reopening Friday I tell him about my car, go to start it and it wont hit for nothing??? Why in the hell will it run perfect one moment and then not again...

it sounds like you have a spark problem. Change your plugs, cap, rotor, coil and wires. If that doesn't fix it pull your distributor and check it for rust to see if it is affecting your spark. Also, what is the temperature where you are b/c this is very similar to a problem I had with my 85.

The engine has brand new plugs, wires, cap, electronic super coil, and Hi-6 fireball ignition. the temperature just suddenly dropped today to like 30 degrees here lately it's been like 60's

The more and more I think about it, I've got myself to believing it is the pickup coil. I called and got one ordered it'll be in in the morning so I guess we'll find out if that's it. (he he I really hope it is becuase there is a new ***** in town that really needs to be put in his place, especialy with the track opening friday)

Real easy to replace...you have to pull the distributor.. punch the roll pin out of the shaft at the bottom . All the rest will come apart. the shaft will just pull out of the housing. watrch for any O-rings.
Hope this is the problem its an easy fix. Be sure to mark your rotor for timing reference

Ok so now I get up this morning getting ready to get in the truck to leave as I walk by my car I get curious, jump in turn the key, starts right up
I didnt take it out and drive it becuase I dont feel like it sitting anywhere again but I revved it up a little and at about 3000 rpms it had a little miss but it was constant so I'm hoping that maybe it is that pickup coil and it'll fix everything...

Yea that ignition module was the only thing I didnt change, however this morning I figured that that had to be the cause of my problem so I went ahead and ordered a new Holley Annihilator one and hopefully this will fix my problem.. As soon as I get it in and running I'll make sure and post the outcome....
