What engine could i have?
ok. im new to this board, I dont own a 3rd gen, I got a 77 Camaro, but i do have a engine from a 87 trans am in it. Thats where im confused.. I'm told that it came from a 87 trans am and its a 350 HO yet it looks like a chevy 350, the HO part i dunno about. anyways.. i dont understand this because I cant find any reference of a 350 chev. HO being in a 87 trans am.. do any of you know if thats the case or if this engine isnt even orginal from that trans am? and another thing.. there is a hose on the intake behind the carb that has a line coming off of it thats plugged.. just wonderin what it is for? any help would be great guys!
Welcome Aboard!
An '87 Trans Am would have had one of three engines:
305 Chevrolet SBC, E4ME QuadraJet carbureted;
305 Chevrolet SBC, TPI fuel injected;
350 Chevrolet SBC, TPI fuel injected.
If it came stock with a carb, it's not likely a 350. In any case, it's a Chevy.
