Can you identify this motor?
This is what l know about the motor. It had a TBI setup on it. On the left rear flange it reads "GM 5.7L 6" lt had 87+ bolt pattern on the intake. Dont think it was a roller setup. The salvage yard says it came out of an 87 Chevy C10.
My understanding of the "6" on the flange is that it is the VIN code. Going on that basis, l went to the chilton's for that year. The only on that had a 6 as a vin code was a caprice w/ a 4bbl. Which is not what this had on it.
Any ideas appreciated.

Those trucks did come with 350 TBIs, so what the yard told you is probably true. I had one of them sitting in my garage for a long time that came out of a 87 K-5 Blazer. I think they used that combo from about 86 or 87 up. I believe you are correct that it is not a roller motor.
The 6 has nothing to do with the VIN code.
Are you planning on buying it or something?
