Gear Drive

I recently got a great deal on a Pete Jackson gear drive I am planning to replace my timing chain set up with this unit. However I have heard that gear drives cause problems with fuel-injected engines (knock sensor noise) if this is true is there anything I can do about it? Or should I stay with a chain?

lot of people that actually have them with a knock senser equipped engine report no problems. lot of people that never had one report lot of false knock signals.

You can make your own "quiet" gear drive by drilling a 1/16 hole in about every second or third valley between the teeth on the cam gear and crank gear. Cuts down on false knock problems by letting the air escape, which decreases the whine.
