egr passage question

ok ,stupid question, but havent worked on chevys with emissions for years.should the heads have passages for the EGR?while changing intake manifold gaskets, i noticed that mine didnt.if theyre supposed to, now i gotta find out what i have got under the hood.thanks in advance.(85 lg4)
