Tight engine???????????

I've finished my rebuild and am going through the break-in procedure. Everything seems to be doing good. The only problems I have run across is a code 43 (knock sensor) figured I'd deal with that later and the other problem is after I've run my car a while and come back home and turn it off, it doesn't want to crank. I've got a new battery and the alternator is charging. It seem like the engine is so tight that it needs more than the new battery to get it cranked. It'll turn over real slow and if you keep trying to crank it the battery gets pretty low then. Is it possible for the motor to be this tight? I put new rings, mains, rod bearings, Vortec heads modded for up to 550 lift, a new cam with a little over 500 lift, double roller timing set, new oil pump anyway you get the picture. Anyone else ever had this problem?

Timing may be too far advanced.
