This 350 setup will work?
This 350 setup will work?
One of you guys suggested a setup very close to this when I asked for a 350 before. I changed a few of the parts but maintainted similiar number specifications. So if you guys could look over this setup and tell me if it will work, I would greatly appreciate it. BTW, I have very little car knowledge, mostly textbook stuff, so bare with me.

It will "work"; the problem would be, about the third time you rev the motor up into its power band, the bottom end will scatter itself. Enormous race intake ports and single plane intakes don't go well with stock cast cranks and stock rods.
Upgrade those 2 pieces to at least a good quality forged crank (not the cheapest thing you can buy that says "forged" in the ad copy), and GM PM rods with ARP or SPS bolts or good aftermarket rods (again, not the cheapest thing you can find); you'll get to enjoy it a whole lot longer.

Are there any cheaper ones that will work as well. I don't have a money tree but want to make sure that the engine is built to last.

Those would be much better.
Another to look at would be the Eagle "SIR" products, those would also be a good cost/benefit type of product for the application at hand.

i dont believe a stock GM hei unit will do any good above 5000 rpm's. maybe, spend the extra 150 to get a MSD HEI rebuild kit.

Or you could go with a cam/head combo that's a little more street friendly.
Like some World SRs, with a 268 comp cam, and a performer RPM intake.
Just one example of many possible combos.
