Can someone help me check fusible links?
I accidentally ground the green/white wire from my fuel pump relay and now my car wont start. I checked all the fuses, and now i believe the next step to troubleshooting my car is the fusible links. What do i have to do to check them...can you think of any specific fusible links i might check connected to the fuel pump relay? How hard are they to fix? What will i need? Can you guys please explain to me in detail like im a child, because im new to this and i really want to learn, but have very little knowledge on troubleshooting. Thanks a lot i appreciate it and love this board so much!
to test for continuity, you use an ohm-meter connecting a lead to each end of the wire. Usually the leads on the meter are sharp so you can penetrate the insulation on the wire where you want to test from. If the meter reads zero ohms or almost zero (digital) then the wire is good.
If the meter reads a very high number or infinity, then the wire is broken or bad.
A good digital volt-ohm meter will test for DC voltage and ohms. That way you can test for both power and continuity on wires.
your fusable links will go to the battery and down to a post on your starter.

jsut turn the ignition to run and probe on both sides of the fusible link with a volt meter. the on that donst have 12 volts is the the dead link
