1.6 rocker questions

is the socket(couldn't think of proper term) for the push rod closer to the stud or furter away. i pruchesd some used 1.6ers and i wanted to know if i got riped or what. i looked at them and it looks as though the "socket" is closer to the stud. also what do you guys think of running 1.5s on the intake side and 1.6s on th eexhust. it would be like i'm running a dual patern cam then. please let me know what you think.

Shorter. The rocker ratio = distance from stud to valve, divided by the distance from the stud to the push rod; the ratio goes up if the denominator goes down.

Most heads, especially stock ones, flow worse on the exhaust side than the intake. If you had a single pattern cam with an already big enough intake lobe (the thing that determines the "size" of a cam) and you wanted to improve it, you'd need to put the higher ratio ones on the exhaust side. Look at the cam specs for modern design cams, they all have bigger exhaust lobes. But then, it's not like you lose anything by putting them on the intake side too; so you're not going to make it run better by leaving off half the set.
