best cam/compression w/ 291's?

After cleaning up an old set of heads I had, I found they were 291's with 64cc chambers, 202/160's. what would be the best cam and compression ratio for these heads? Any suggestions for intake? I plan on using the Qjet and keeping the headers/3" full exhaust I have now.

I would go with the Comp Xtreme XE268. It's a great all round cam. And as far as compression, with 64cc heads I would say keep it around 9.5:1.

350 4 bolt main, Speed-O-Motive 383 stroker kit, re-sized rods ground for clearance,TRW Forged pistons,10.7:1 compression,HPC Coated RPM intake, Speed Demon 750 cfm carb,World Products Sportsman II heads,2.02/1.60 valves, Comp Cam 1.6 roller rockers, Comp Xtreme 284 cam,240/246@.050 with .540 lift,Crane pushrods,ATI damper,Proform HEI and MSD6A box,HPC coated 1 5/8 headers, 2.5" exhaust with 40 series mufflers,TH350 with B&M 3000 stall, Powertrax NoSlip Locker, 4.11 gears.

man every body loves that cam, ive never seen such a popular cam. i would go with that. if you use a flat top piston with 4 valve releves you would get 9.6:1 comp ratio. get a performer RPM for a Q-jet and you ready to go

Curent: 350,performer RPM intake ,650dp, 700r4, headers, 3inch exhast
Spring 01: 406, Comp 282 solid cam, 2400 stall converter, every thing else the same.

Thanks for the replies, fellas. I was real stoked about having a good set of heads to start with, The 268 was going to be my choice, I just wanted to make sure. In the intake side of things, I was thinking of gasket matching the stocker and asdding a 1" spacer to the Qjet. Good idea/bad idea?

Gold85:

Having BTDT (400 in my 83, used to have a Comp 282S, replaced it with a XE274H), I would advise you to consider that line of cams carefully for your project. My motor ran stronger with the XE274 than the 282S and didn't require adjustment every 12 or 15000 miles or at least wouldn't have if it had lasted.
