sensor question

what is the sensor on the passenger side of the block between 8 & 6 spark plugs, i broke the connector to it when i was changing the plugs tonight, if someone could tell me what sensor it is id appreciate it. Also can i just splice in a new connector with out having any problems, or is there something else id have to do to it.

sounds like a water temp. sensor. What do you mean by "broke"?

Either the fan switch or the knock sensor.
The fan switch is the the head, the knock sensor is in the block.
I believe the wire to the fan switch is black.

A few inchs from the starter right?
I'm pretty sure thats your knock sensor. I'm pretty sure I remember my wire being either green or blue, although someone told me it should be white.

If you go a few posts down there is a picture of the fan switch, just to make sure.

And what did you break, the clip that holds the wire into the sensor? I'm not sure if thats a seperate piece or not, you might need to put in a new sensor to get that piece, or you could ghetto rig it, but I didn't tell you to do that,
