Car Won't Start Need HELP!!
I just installed a new intake manifold, ditched the egr and everything that goes with it including smog pump, and ditched the evac can. Everything is back in the car and the car cranks but does not start. Someone said the distrubutor went in wrong so i tried pointing it to the #1 but it won't drop in itll only drop all the way in one way. Could it be something other than the distributor also is there a way to get my distributor to drop all the way in? Step by step instruction would be awesome if anyone has them how to make sure I'm firing in the right spot. How do you know if the #1 cylinder is where it has to be? Getting close I get my liscense on tuesday and I want to drive this thing so bad...

ok,first take out the distributor, put the cyl. # 1 at top dead center on the compression stroke. then you want to ahve the rotor facing the point for cyl. 1 wire. and that will get you close enough to check it qw/ a timing light. to get the dist. in you'll ave to just try it until the oil pump drive sits in the pump right. jsut take it out and put it in rotating it a little bit until it goes in.

I don't mean to hijack this post, but I have the same problem. I replaced the cap, rotor, ignition module, and coil. I checked the pickup coil, and it's ok. Even starting at 0*, the thing will not start. Timing's not 180* out or anything like that. any other ideas?

I've just been informed that I need to check my coil mount for good ground. That seems like the most likely cause. Thanks for the advice. I'll check that too.
