Are the valve springs on the assembled World S/R Torquer heads good?

I know that some assembled heads come with valve springs that say they can handle over 0.500 lift when they really can't. I just want to know what the springs on these heads can handle. I am only going to be using a XE262 cam with 1.52 comp roller tip rockers, so if they are at least good for over 0.480 lift then I won't have to order new springs.

buy a set of springs from comp or lunati to match your cam. yes the springs that come o nthe heads are good, the real question is for what.

I looked them up and they are supposed to handle up to 0.560 max lift. I think they will be OK, but just wanted to check.

Would it be smarter to buy the bare heads and get the valves and springs? If you do what else do you have to purchase?

A good 3 angle valve job, retainers (if the new springs don't come with), valve locks and valve stem oil seals and possibly rocker studs depending on the head you buy.

Like above, run the recommended sprigns. They are cheap enough to offset the downsides of running the wrong spring. A set of 981 springs is only about $55, which, incidentally, is the recommended spring for the Xe262. I think the 986's are the next step up and cost about $85ish.

I'm running a Comp XE274 on these heads/springs with no float or obvious problems, even at 6500rpms.
