intake removel..need help quick.......

intake removel..need help quick.......

I am trying to remove my intake ..when i put it on i didnt put enough rtv on the back wall and developer an oil leak..its been about 3 weeks since i have had day off so im trying to fix it.. only thing though i think i put to much rtv in the sides of the intake that mounts to the head..know i cant get the intake off..she stuck good. i have tried every method i could think of...please guys i need help on this..tues.is my only day off for the next month.

Yup. They will seal but a soft faced hammer and a few wacks should break it loose. You could also wrap a pry par in a towel and put it into an intake port and lift up on it.

ill try that guys...i was just affraid to pry to hard and crack the intake...ill give yall an update if a can or cant get it off.....thanks

Ever heard, "If it sounds too good to be true, it is."?

How about this one: "If it feels like it is being held by a bolt, it probably is."

Well, you didn't say that, but double triple check that you've got all the bolts out. Amazing how often that turns out to be the problem.

Damn. He beat me to it.

But I can add this... there are 12 bolts holding your intake manifold on. Count the ones you have out.

Check the valve covers to. Sometimes they'll be sitting over the edge of the intake.

thanks guys but no all the bolts are off...it was just seated really good on the sides...i managed to get it off with a soft face hammer.....thanks for the help guys...
