Car wont start

Hi guys, I just wanted to know if there is a way I could jump start my car if the starter is dead. And also, is it pretty hard to replace the starter? What type of problems am I going to run into if any? Thanx for any help you guys can offer.

P.S. The symptom my car is having is when I go to start it, there is just a clicking sound everytime I turn the ignition. Starter problem?

Just clicking could be battery, solinoid, starter, or connection. First look at the battery. Are the cabels loose, look corroded, or burnt in anyway? Check the battery itself by taking it to Autozone and having them do a load test. If it comes back ok, then you have a starter problem.
As for jumpstarting your car, it will only do this if it is actually the battery that has the problem, if the starter is fried, it won't work. Although if you have a stick shift, you can just push start it.

As for replacing the starter I did it tonight, you will need a 1/2" socket, a 9/16" socket, 5/16" socket, a rachet, few extensions, and wrenches of the same sizes. Remove connections to your battery. There are two bolts (9/16") actually holding the starter. Then there are three other bolts that have wires on them. But only two have wires on them. One is 1/2" and the other is 5/16". Remove these very easily. You might need a pipe to give you added leverage(I did). Make sure you do not get the wires hooked up, three to the larger post and one to the smaller. Hope this helps
