A/C removal and Blower Motor Housing

I'm in the process of removing my whole A/C setup, and I was wondering what to do about the blower motor. I removed the A/C core, but its housing is attached to the blower motor housing... Is it supposed to be sealed? It's not gonna be when I'm done unless I ad something to it... Do I even need to keep it at all? I've done some searching, but I direct response is always nice. Thanks folks.

-EDIT- Can a mod please delete this? It's 110% redundant, sorry.
