replaced distributer...now random pop in exhaust

Engine: 350 tbi
Transmission: 700r4
replaced distributer...now random pop in exhaust

i as replacing intake ad dist. and thought i had everything marked right. when i finished i started her up and after a min or two there was a pop in the exhaust...pops about every six seconds... could i have mispossioned the dist during install. would that cause the pop...firing order is correct on the plug wires...need help

Transmission: Still works
Axle/Gears: need 3.73
Had a similar problem on my 86 Z28 LG4. I just installed new cap, rotor and plugs and wires. Take the cap off and look into the cap and make sure the points are good.

i set it back to 0 just to be safe... i was checking under the cap and there was alot of moister and corrosion around someof the terminals under the cap...i went and got mt old gm replacement for the garage and ot seems to be working fine know...i think that the cap was the problwm....thanks guys you helped again...
