When you are trying to take the dipstick tube out do it from the bottom, not the top! It wouldn't come out at first so I got frustrated and used a pair of vise grips and pulled as hard as I could. The vise grips slipped off and I nearly lost my eye! I ended up gouging my face and actually scratching my eye ball. I'm lucky I still have my eye! At first I was so delerious that I thought I lost my left eye when I saw all the blood. Scary feeling! Lesson: have patience and don't pull the dip stick from the top, lol.

maybe we should just expand this safety lesson and say that pulling with all your might in the direction of your face is probably bad

 

lol, that too, but when you're pissed off and you have to have the car done before it gets dark you don't think too much about those kinds of things. Trust me, it was a lesson well learned!
