LO3, L69 Head Swap???
I have an 89 Formula; it got a stock LO3. The car is in pretty good shape so I don't want to do too much drastic changing, but I have to beat my friends 84 L69 TA,
. Would swapping the heads
off of an L69 motor do the LO3 motor any good?
Would swapping heads off of a 350 that came out of a 79 Z28
do the LO3 any good? TIA:hail:

The heads on the '79 Camaro are garbage, weather its a Z28 or not. Don't touch them. Thats about the only way to make an LO3 worse with a head swap.
Now... the L69 head swap would be a great idea! Those heads are 10000000000000000X better than your LO3 'swirl port' heads.

Awright, THAT'S a little drastic. '416 heads are probably only 2-3 times better than L03 "swirlie" heads.
He's absolutely right about the '79 SBC heads. Stay away from them, unless you need a pair of 23° wheel chocks for safety in jacking/lifting the car. Just break off the rocker studs with a BFH so you don't accidentally pierce a tire.

Common guys A much better Idea would be to sell them to a TBI truck guy as high velocity high compression replacment heads. They actually dont do too bad on a low RPM application.
