please someone help!! i need pics of power steering mount possition!
im finally getting my car back together tonight and my buddies and i cant figure out how to mount my power steering pump back on. i may be missing a bracket. i had to get some new brackets because some were bent from my accident. i havent worked on this car for two years because of money status. i the only thing keeping me back is this power steering pump. i just need a picture of how they mount up. i have a v-belt setup in my 83 on a 305. it was originally a a/c car but my little brother threw out the a/c compressor and any brackets with it, i hope that doesnt matter. please help soon so i can finish my car tonight.
thanks

Also, to add to that, as long as only A/C brackets were thrown away your ok. If I remember correctly, you only need the bracket that goes on the powersteering pump and the one that goes from the block to the first header bolt.

seein as how I'm the goofball who needed those wondeful pics in the first place, I can verify the length of the spacer in that pic. it's 1 1/2 inches long.
if you're using LT headers.... you may not be able to use the upper bracket..... but honestly, if you retain the others, you'll be ok. I know you said the A/C is gone... but you may want to go junkyarding and find the compressor and brackets from another car. if you can't, lemme know, and I might could get you the brackets you need.

i am going to try to make a trip to the junkyard because i believe im missing a bracket. im going to just take all of the brackets for the accesories i can get that way i know i wont be missing any. i also have one bracket thats broken, and one thats bent. needless to say there is not much i can do until i get to the yard and find some brackets. as long as i find a v-belt f-body will all of them have the same mounting peices.

Doesn't even have to be a F-car.... Caprices, Cutlasses, MCs, etc. with Chevy V8s from 82 or so up until they changed to the 1 flat belt and a couple of V-belts, in about 86 or 87, will do fine.

look for an 80-84 caprice or monty C or f-body V8. jack all the brackets.
