i just put a new power steering canister and all (2) new belts and when i first installed all this i put some wd40 on the canister pully because it was sitting a bit but i did this while the belt was on and i am thinking this might have caused the problem. anyway a week later the steering belt came loose and made sounds when turning so i tightend it and now almost all the time while driveing the belt screams and if i mash the gas i smell burning anyway its driveing me nuts and i was wondering if u guys can tell me if i destroyed the belt with the wd40 or did i put the belt to tight????

 

Buy a Belt,,cheap. If no fix take the pump back,,eeven new can be bad,,,,,you have the belt on the right pully?
