Help me solve this: What do K&N filters look like?

I just bought a 91 Z-28 and on the airbox it says it is eqiped with K&N filters, except they dont look like high performance filters to me. Do K&Ns have any distinguishing characteristics, what color should they be, do they have any serial numbers printed on them, anything else? Thanks I need to know if I need to buy a new set.

They should have a black rubber sealing surface and the filter media is cotton sandwiched between wire mesh. Also, if it's not too dirty the media should have a pinkish appearance from the filter oil. Hope this helps.
