Pontiac/Chevy 350...the same?

Want to buy a 350 off a friend who took it outa his 89 firebird. Just the bottom end and want to know if I can throw my chevy top end **** ontop of it and if itll all bolt on the same. Kind of a n00b question for all that ive done but I just donno

A Firebird from 89 doesn't have a Pontiac motor, it has a Chevrolet one. So yes, it is the same as a Chevy.

I'd say, go for it, especially if you have a 305.
