heard of this one?
I've got a TBI 305 Firebird...
It has had a habit of dying immediately after starting when warmed up (particularly when the weather has changed rapidly) Usually 3 "dead starts" and then it's fine.
I was driving it home and it suddenly died while in motion. I coasted it to a stop and tried to restart it. It cranks fine and almost caught a few times (I think the ignition is fine) but would not idle.
Does this sound like anything common in these cars?

Before you jump to a bad fuel pump, check the relay. That is assuming of the 3 things needed to run (Air, Fuel, Spark) you are getting no fuel. If you ARE getting fuel, obviously look elsewhere.
Check the ignition module (located inside the distributor), make sure thats ok.

update
I'm not sure what was going on yesterday *Driver's seat diagnosis*cough
But the fuel delivery is fine. It's the ignition.
I've narrowed it down to the tach drive is dead coming out of the distributor (verified with a trouble light).
That means either dead module or open pickup coil.
On to the next question:
Have you guys noticed a pattern; one more prone to failure? In my experience I've mainly seen pickup coils open rather than dead modules.
