Problems with starting my car, key won't turn?
I can't seem to turn the key when I put it into my ignition. I own an 86 Iroc. My friend has an 88 base model and had the same problem, so all he did was spray some lube into it and he hasn't had anymore problems. I borrowed his lube and tried it, but I can't seem to get it to work. I haven't seen any improvement.
try another key, if that doesn't work i'd guess your cylinder that the key goes in needs replaced.

Does this happen all the time, or just now? You know how after you pull the key, the steering wheel locks against turning? Well maybe the wheel was "forced" to one side, and preventing the key from turning. Solution? Turn the steering wheel the way it can go, and put the key in, and turn the key.
Make sure to use a graphite key-lube, not something like WD-40. The WD-40 will actually clean all the graphite off the tumblers in the lock, and screw up your lock.

I am actually having this proble right now too. I have found that the ignition switch was faulty. I could kinda turn the car on, but it took both of my hands to turn the key so I could turn it off.
So check your ignition switch, I found this out because the little rod going to it was bending pretty good.
