when is it a good time to switch to synthetic?

after rebuild has 3000 miles with a flat cam or 30 minutes with a roller. new roller engines don't matter.

ese isn't there an issue with synthetic oil and piston rings and cyl walls not wearing right with it during break in?
could have sworn that ppl using synthetic during break in have problems with ring sealing because of the reduced friction so wouldn't that cause a problem when changing after only 30 min like you claim when using a roller cam

as for synthetic using with nitrous I would assume it prolly would work a litle better (again ASSUME) being it reduces friction for one so les stress on parts and also if you get blowby it might work a little better on making the oil last a little longer but I have no clue how bad nitrous is to engine oil

guess it truely would depend on the rings you use, but most rings seat with in 30 minutes. i'll say follow ring maker guidelines. still a new eingine wouldn't matter because of better control. lot of new cars first start on synthetic. i change oil i na new engine at 30 minutes, and 500 miles all with 30w dino and at 3000 g oto whatever oil in intend to run in it, usually M1
