Oil Pressure Sending Unit...Which One?....Hard to replace?
I need to replace my oil pressure sending unit on my GTA. Ive only seen them in 15, 30, and 50 PSI. Now i dont know which one to buy and my oil pressure gauge has a max of 60 PSI on it. I just wanna make sure i buy the right one.Does anyone maybe know a part number or where i can get the right one, how much it might cost, and which PSI i want. Also, is it hard to replace?
My car is an 88 Pontiac GTA w/ a 5.7 lt 350 TPI....Thanks,Al in NJ

Just go to the parts counter at any autoparts store and tell them what kind of car you have and that you want an oil pressure sending unit. If its in stock, theyll hand you the right one.

It should be behind the intake manifold behind the rear china wall off to the drivers side. if it isnt there its in the side of the block above the oil filter, its very easy to replace.

The one above the oil filter is teh oil pressure switch. AFAIK, it serves only as a backup power switch for the fuel pump in the EFI cars.
