Plate underneath the intake

Underneath the Intake (where the filters are)there is a plate infront of the radiator. well today i took it off, I was wondering if i would get a mild ram air effect from this. because that is what i think the plate does, lower the pressure infront of the radiator.

has anybody done this?

It blocks radiator heat and water splash from the filter area. Most people do either remove it or push the front of it down to form an air ramp. It will make little difference either way.
You cannot get ram-air without a sealed system anyway. Most power increases come from cold air induction.

I removed that and cut off the bottoms of the air boxes.
