Right now my fuel pump is shot, and my ecm may be also. I am swapping in a new motor in about a month, but i want to get it running right now so i have transportation for that month, and can get it smogged before i make the switch to carbeurated. If the computer is bad will the car still run at all? I took it to a mechanic to make sure my diagnostic was correct, and he told me that the computer may be bad, that the signal to the fuel pump relay is intermittent...sometimes it works, sometimes it doesnt. If the computer is bad, but the car still runs, will i be able to pass emissions, or with a bad computer will that cause problems?Thanks guys.

 

When my ECM went out last year the car still ran. It ran poorly and lacked power, but it ran and it was driveable.
