Running car with maf disconnected

can it hurt my car? my car doesn't have any throttle response, bucks violenty through out the gears, doesnt idle, code 34, i replaced the relay didnt do n e thing, so i disconnected the maf and my cars runs like a charm except for the idling problem. can i run my car like this? until the new maf arrives..i know the 2 downfalls (performance and gas mileage) but my car is my daily driver and only vehicle.

thanx

It wont really hurt anything. Disconnecting the MAF just sends the computer into a "limp home" mode which means the car will run off of pre-programmed parameters. I wouldnt race the car or anything, just take it easy on it and drive as little as possible until your new MAF arrives.

I bought my 88 GTA with a broken maf ( unknowingly) and drove it for about a month or 2 that way. No apparent damage. Ran fine, too. Actually, it seems to be a little slower with the good maf connected !

Tyler, did you replace both relays or just one? And what year is the car?

Let's see if this works, if it does, thank Vader:

That's a pic of a T/A but it gives you a general idea.
