Hallo to everybody !
Sometimes I can hear a knocking sound from under the hood, but I canīt figure out the cause. Itīs most of the time when shifting from N or P into gear, but not always. When idling in D it sometimes occures, too, but not while cruising arround ( at least I canīt hear it then ). MY motor has about 3k miles on it and the oil pressure is quite low at idle ( I hope itīs the sender, cause the needle sometimes goes up and down without changing the rpm, Iīm going to replace it soon ). What would be the sound of a rod or main bearing going south, wouldīt it knock all the time ? Valve train noise perhaps ? - But why intermittent ? - Iīm rather clueless, perhaps you can give me a hint. ( I hope my rebuild engine isnīt in serious trouble ?

Could be the transmission mount, since it happens when you shift into gear.

 

Shouldīt be the transmission mount right under my bottom ? - Why does it knock under the hood ?
