Code 44

I couldn't find anything when i search, nor my code book. so, what is code 44 and what could cause it? btw, my car stumbles right before this code is thrown, at least most of the time unless i accelerate.

-Flowmaster Catback
-Performance Resource Chip
-700R4 (Rebuilt) Too much done to actually list
-K&N Airfilters
-Ported Plenum
-2.77 Gears (not much to brag about but eh, its there)
-MSD 8.5 mm plug wires
-Problems every other day with the car (probably not a mod, but to me it sure makes a difference)

Fuel pressure is at 46 PSI with vacuum disconnected. I hope the fuel filter isn't clogged, Fram will be getting a call believe me. A fuel filter has to have a longer life span than a couple weeks...and i don't use the "Fuel additive" stuff because i think it's all just rubbing alcohal stuck in a bottle with a name...

Branz,

How old is the O2 sensor? Your fuel pressure seems O.K., so the filter is probably not the problem.

Here are a few of the possibilities:

1. If the oxygen sensor is good, it's possible that the MAF is under-reporting to the ECM;

2. It's also possible that the A.I.R. diverter valve is leaking some air into the manifolds instead of diverting all air to the cat converter;

3. You may have injectors slightly undersized for the modifications you have, so increasing fuel pressure slightly might help;

4. There might be some minor exhaust leaks upstream of the sensor allowing a diluted exhaust that reads too lean at the sensor;

5. Your custom PROM might have the fuel offsets a little too lean for the temperatures you are operating at;

6. Similarly, the CTS might be reporting the coolant temperature a little too high, causing the ECM to lean out the mixture a bit at cruise.

There are probably many other possibilities, but that was just off the top of my head.
