Quick question about computer swaps

I've got an 82 Z28 with the carbureted 305. Will a computer from an 83 work properly in my car? Thanks for any info.

ECart,

If the part numbers of the two ECMs are the same, they will interchange. You will have to use the original PROM/CALPAK in the replacement ECM, however.

Thanks Vader, guess I've got other problems LOL. I put the stock prom back in today and I pulled a code 51, switched the prom around and the engine light stays on and flickers a bit and couldn't pull a code. Put it back notch to notch and pulled a code 51 again with the engine light on. hehehe fun fun, taking it in Monday to a shop.
