If your friend has a 4.3L in his Caprice he doesn't have a LT1, he has a L99.

The L99 has 19# fuel injectors stock. The number stamped near the top will be 17120683.

They will fit, there are hundreds of people running LT1 and even Ford injectors in their TPI.
