Are 24# SVO Injectors too big for my set up???

I'm working on a 87 Trans Am 350 TPI and are 24# SVO injectors going to be too big for my set up?? What I will have done to my car is as follows, Ported L98 Cast Iron Heads, Accel TPI Intake, Ported out Plenum, Ported SLP Runners, LT4 Hot Camshaft, 1.6 Roller tip Rockers, Hooker Headers, Dynomax Exhaust System, 52mm Edelbrock Throttle Body, Holley AFPR, and a custom chip to it all. What has apperantly happed is that I was running the SVO injectors on the 350 that was rebuilt about 8,000 miles ago. I only had a Comp Cam with 208/210 duration, 52mm TB, the AFPR, Ported Heads, Stock Intake, Stock Plunem, SLP runners, Hooker Headers, Dynomax Exhaust, all running on the stock chip and the machine shop said that fuel has washed out the rings and thats what's caused me to burn so much oil, they belive it never gave the rings a chance to seat as too much fuel was going in, They are fix'n the block for me and I don't want this to happen again. Should I go to 22# injectors, or will the 24# SVO's be fine to run now since I have the computer chip for them, Thanks, Jason

I would say they are just about right BUT YOU HAVE TO HAVE THE PROM fised to match the cam. Your earlier combo was running stock PROM which, when combined with the lowered vacuum signal from a more radical cam, richens up the mixture in open loop situations until closed-loop is met, and at startup. Moreso, if your ECU reaches the limits of BLM, it will not be able to running any leaner than tht point and that point may be richer than stoichiometry, possibly causing cylinder wash.

Got to get a REAL custom PROM, not an off-the-shelfer!!!

Thanks for the reply, I was hoping I could use those injectors, I already had a custom chip made up for the set-up I will run when It's back together, I figured I'll need it since I was going to run the LT4 hotcam and it's also programmed for the 24# SVO injectors. Thanks, Jason
