Header bolts.

It's been sounding like I have an exhaust leak so I decided to check my header bolts. Driver's side was fine. Passenger side was a different story. Five of the six were loose. Three were easy to do, the other's are a different story. Just can't get to them.

If I try from under the car will I have more luck. Any input from someone who has dealt with this before? I'll tackle it next week.

Thanks.

Bill

You might try some shorty wrenches or even a 1/4 rachet and sockets.
Good time to invest in 'Stage 8' header bolts (Summit #STG-8911). These will never come lose!!!
Also if it's leaking there's a good chance that the gasket is toast. Once the exhaust blows by them, they become super brital.

You are going to have to get them fron under the car. I would invest in the new locking bolts that are out there that have an allen screw inside the bolt that expands it into the head. This goes away from the locking tabs. I have the stage 8 bolts and I could not use any of the locking tabs because the primaries were to close to the bolt.

The locking tabs can rattle as well. Pretty annoying.

Yep, my primaries are pretty close too. One or two are so close that I can't use a socket. The socket will is too thick.

I'll crawl under and get it done. I will also check into the other bolts too.

Thanks guys.

Check out Breslin header bolts... those things never come loose, and by design, don't rattle either. They are a 2-peice bolt. You'll see what I mean if you look them up.
