Hydrocarbons failed at Idle Y?
Hydrocarbons failed at Idle Y?
Well i too kthe car in after replacing the o2 sensor ,cts, new air filters, pvc, tps set at .54, timing set at 2* advance(dont think thats the problem), doesnt blow or smoke any oil. Car did much better then last time, Standard HC is .80 and co is 15.0
First: HC 2.00 and 11.9Co
Second time: HC 1.04 and 3.4Co
From the looks of the graph the HC spiked over the limit mostly at idle and slow rolling speeds. After that the HCs stayed down under the limit. I have noticed that the car does idle rough at times and can be pretty bouncy on sumdays. Any ideas on why it might not be passing, I only got one try left!

Hc's can be caused by misfires. Whats the condition of your plugs, wires, cap etc.
Another thing to check since your problem seems to happen at closed throttle is the iac. It may just be dirty you can try to clean it out with some carb cleaner.

Remember the thread in TPI forum? Arr/rich condition? I detailed some good testing information. I never heard back from you.

Yea i already dropped some dry gas in the tank on the last run. It improved significantly but i know thiers a problem with the car if its having this hard of a time to pass. In the morning like i was aying the idle jumps up and down until it warms up The idle is still ruff even after its warmed up but it stops stumbling nad hesitating. U guys think it could be the idle air control valve? If so could this be causing me to fail?
