Vibration Above 3K RPM?

Hey guys,
Symptoms are as follows: moderate vibration when holding or accelerating through any rpm above about 2750-3000. It is noticable in all gears, more so in 3rd-5th (it's a 5-sp). This leads me to believe it doesn't involve tire/wheel balance or driveshaft. If, while driving and experiencing the shake, I shift into neutral and let off the gas, the vibration goes away. Does this sound like flywheel/flexplate, or balancer, or something else. Is there any test I can do to isolate the source of this? Thanks guys!
