Infernal Vibration
Infernal Vibration
This is a great site. Remedied a lot of propblems by reading here every day. So, I've got an '87 Iroc, TPI 350/TH350, with what appears to be the OEM driveshaft. I have a vibration, or an oscillation, which begins at 2000 RPM, and the frequency of the oscillation increases with increased RPM. At 100 MPH, it's no longer oscillating, but, is one constant growl of a vibration. The mirrors even blur like those on my Harley! Any idea's/thoughts/opinions??? By the way, the vibration begins at 2000 RPM regardless of what gear it is in.
have you checked anything or you want us to trouble shoot it for you? might be a good thing if you checked the u joints, trans and motor mounts, wheel/tire balance, and the drive shaft straight.

U-joints seem OK (no movement up & down Nor Back & forth). Transmission mount is new Energy Suspension. Don't know about wheel\tire balance, but will spend time at the local Big O and find out. Don't know about motor mounts yet.
might want to take a look at the crank dampner too, make sure it's not coming off. how is the th350 mounted? does it have a adapter kit such as b&m pn 30299? if the trans isn't installed and mounted correctly there may be a problem. cracked flex plate makes lot of noise, look at the torque coverter bolts too.
