if it's like all the other third gens i've saw the fuel filter is mounted in front of the rear end on the left side. takes a couple of wrenches. take off the gas cap before you start. buy a new filter before you start and you'll know what to look for.

It's not hard. the only hard part is threading in the new filter. Jack the car up from the back on the pumpkin and climb under in front of the drivers side rear whell. you'll see it. Cahnging it is common sense.

You should also look into changing your o2 sensor. This probably has the most effect on gas mileage. You'll find it on the ehxaust manuifold on the drivers side. The change is not hard but its tedious. You'll also need a special o2 sensor wrench. I got a bosch from autozone for about $20. Pep boys wanted $28 for a stock replacement so try to get the upgraded and cheaper bosch from autozone.

Good Luck.
