Tach Problems

Ok, after installing a complete MSD system my tachometer is acting funky. I read through the MSD literature, it says there is an inline filter that must be removed for the tach to function properly. Anyone know what it is, where it is, what it looks like? Thanks.

Hi,

The same thing happened to me after I installed MSD6AL in my 86 T/A. I bought a tach adapter from MSD, but since I bought it this problem has not shown (I havent installed it yet). Now ~10k miles later I havent seen the problem again. This is known problem when dealing with GM tach and MSD6A, and I am sure the staff at www.msdignition.com can help you.

Hope this helps,

Nonni
