"Burning Plastic" Smell from Hot Engine

Today I took the GTA out for a ride and when I shut it off and got out, noticed a smell of hot or burning plastic, but no smoke. Usually there is no smell. I haven't done anything to the car lately. Would oil leaking onto a hot engine smell like plastic ? I checked the plug wires, and vac hoses. Lots of them come really close to exhaust, but nothing is actually touching.

Anyone else notice this burning plastic smell ? Any clues ?

Thanks

look at the cat, for some reason plastic shopping bags attract to the cats like steel to a magnet.

Well, since some plastics and oil are both petrolium based, they could smell the same. Were you running the car hard? If so, it could be that the engine was just a little warmer than normal, which will sometimes make it smell odd.
