vader, i appreciate your previous help. i was the one with the stripped oil pan plug. however, i have ground around the edge where it seemed to be welded and i cant get it to turn at all. i had the vise grips on there as tight as can be and nothing. if i grind the head all the way how can i still get the bolt out?? thanks in advance.

well, actually everyones help ABSOLUTELY WOULD be more than appreciated. however, the only reason i applied to just vader, is because i was reffering back to a previous topic that he helped me on and i was unclear of what exactly he was saying. so, if you want to be a "bitch" than go ahead, but i am not looking for only the advise of one person. you could have maybe tried to help rather than being a ***** about it though. im sorry that it looked that i was relying on one specific persons knowledge because i wasnt. oh and hey, THANKS FOR YOUR HELP!

I read your last post, and this is a booger of a problem!!!-I feel for you. This is one of those things that makes you wonder why in the hell you would ever want to work on something yourself.
I suppose a complete oil sump change is out of the question since you are not keeping the engine?
I mean, you can spend an entire day grinding, drilling and tapping and not still not have a drain plug.
Or you can lift the engine swap it out, spend a day and have a sump.....

Why not drill a hole, weld a nut, and use a bolt with some sort of o-ring as your drain plug? We used to weld in 1/2" pipe nipples and screw on 1/4 turn valves on our detroit diesels.
