Installed new guage cluster - now they are inaccurate?

My old cluster would half die when i turned on my Dash lights, so i put in a spare i had (sensing the plastic flex circuit behide it was messed). Now my oil pressure gauge is high, voltage varys, and my gas gauge jumps around--but atleast i can see them at night lol. I tried swapping the individual gauges back in, but i saw the same behavior.
I am *guessing* that the green corrosion on the new flex circuit is adding resistance to the system thus screwing up the guages.

Would this make sense? How much for a NEW flex circuit? Can i test the senders - or better yet the connections right behind the guage cluster with a multimeter? What kind of readings should i get?
