Car won't start... Click.... Click... Click... @&$
I turn the key and all I get is one click.. After about 5 times it usually starts (until today) I had the starter replace last year and found out when they replaced it they routed the wires right on the exhaust and 2 wires were burnt through and were shorting out. Well I fixed the wires and it worked fine yesterday but now its started the clicking thing again. Could it have fried the solenoid? I have tried another fully charged battery and it does the same thing. I've check and cleaned all the connections.
I had the same problem on my 92Z. What I did was sanded all connections real good, and changed the starter. I would take the starter off and have it checked. Also check the nuts on the starter and make sure they are tight. That sounds stupid, but one of mine actually came loose over time, and caused the same problem ( click, click, click, then fire like nothings wrong)Hope this helps.

If the battery is known good, and all connections are for sure clean and tight(they just don't LOOK clean) then it sounds like you need a new stater.
