Car runs bad/dies out. help
on the way home on the highway i hit the gas pedal and my car hesitated then went ok....it got progressivly worse at i got closer to home...it barly stumbled into the driveway...now sometimes it wont start and if it does run it idles normal smoothness.. as soon as i hit the throttle it hesitaltes then goes fine to 5,000 rpm..
its getting spark
the fuel filter is clean the the pump works fine..i checked the gas for water its also fine..
my father thinks its something with the carb...could it be a problem with the mixture control solinoid? i tried to unplug it and try it but it didnt help...
the ignintion coil is new less that 5,000 miles and the plugs/wires/cap rotor/ignintion modual were all done less than 12,000 miles ago..
does anyone have any ideas?

ill try the carb cleaner..
the only computer code i got was 23..the repair manual i have says its the mixture control soliniod...
You likely generated the "23" when you ran the engine with the MC solenoid disconnected. That doesn't necesarily mean that the MC solenoid is good, nor that it is properly adjusted.
Start by following the advice you've already been given. Clean the carb, paying particular attention to the primary throttle bores and to the choke and high idle linkages.
Inspect for vacuum leaks, and make sure the manifold vacuum sensor is connected.
If all that checks out, get your handy voltmeter out and check teh TPS voltage at the hot idle position. Once that is set, test the MC solenoid control signal to make sure is is cycling properly. If you need explicit instructions, I can post them.
