have a question bout sensors and older style blocks....sorry if it sounds dumb...
since our cars are computer controlled and they have knock sensors and other type sensors that need to be hooked into the block....would an old style block (70's) have the holes for them?
i mean they didnt have to worry bout that kinda stuff but then....and i didnt know if they made them with extra "holes" for possible future mods or whatever i dunno.....sorry if this sounds really dumb but it was boggleing my mind when i was trying to piece together the motor i want....

Sensors that are on newer blocks will work on older ones, just instead of screwing the knock sensor into the knock sensor hole, you screw it in to a water jacket drain hole. (same hole)
Most other sensors screw into the heads and intake manifold, TB, etc.

They started putting the knock sensor hole in blocks in 1955; they just didn't realize at the time that it was for a knock sensor. We all though it was just the coolant drain hole for all those years.
All your sensors will bolt right up to an older block. That's the nice thing about Chevrolet motors, as opposed to some other brands I could think of.

BTW - What ARE we going to do for the 50th anniversary of Ed Cole's little project?
